Responsible for welcoming cody garbrandt in flyweight (up to 56,7kg.), Kai Kara France is not confident in a good performance from the former bantamweight champion (up to 61,2kg.) in the UFC 269. In an interview with 'MMA Junkie', the 'No Love' rival pointed out problems that the fighter may have in his first commitment in the category.

“This is the biggest stage in the world and you don't want to cut weight in front of all these people on the biggest pay-per-view and with me in front of you. You don't know how your body will react. Being a bantamweight, a while ago when I cut weight to move to flyweight, it took some time to be successful and understand how my choir would react. That comes with experience,” France said.

Having gone through the process in the past, Kai remained skeptical about Garbrandt's success. According to the challenger, the former bantamweight champion could end up extending his bad phase within Ultimate.

“He is trying to reinvent himself in a new division and there are many questions to be answered. How will his body recover after the weight cut? How will your chin withstand (blows)? What will your conditioning be like? He was fast in bantamweight, probably the fastest, but everyone is fast in this weight division. It’s what we do, how we train,” he said.

Finally, France made his prediction for the confrontation. According to the athlete, the scenario is dramatic for Garbrandt.

“It will be action from start to finish. We will share the center of the octagon and exchange punches and he will feel the weight cut. Eventually, I will finish him and, when he understands that flyweights have power and that it was a bad decision to come down and face me, he will understand that he made a mistake”, he concluded.

Bantamweight champion between 2016 and 2017, Gabrandt is going through the worst moment of his career. The athlete has accumulated four defeats in the last five fights. If France wins, on December 11th, the athlete will return to his winning ways and could take sixth place in the category led by Brandon Moreno.
