Former Bellator champion Ben Askren asks to be Nate Diaz's 'last opponent'

Retired from MMA since 2019, the North American asked to face the controversial fighter, who only has one more fight left in his current contract with the UFC

Retired from MMA since 2019, Ben Askren showed interest in returning to the octagon and indicated who he would like to face. In a statement made on his 'Twitter', the former Bellator champion asked to be the last opponent under the controversial player's current contract. Nate diaz.

“Nate is right, I suck at boxing. He sucks at MMA. If he wants me to prove it, I can be at the USADA pool tomorrow. I would be happy for it to be the last fight on his contract,” wrote Ben.

A professional since 2009, the American won the Bellator and Strikeforce welterweight belts. His last fight in mixed martial arts was in October 2019. At the time, Askren was submitted by the Brazilian Demian Maia in the third round. The fighter retired from mixed martial arts with a record of 19 triumphs and two setbacks.

After hanging up his MMA gloves, Ben decided to take on a new challenge. In April of this year, the North American was challenged by YouTuber Jake Paul for a boxing match. Without being able to use his greatest specialty, grappling, Askren was easy prey for the digital influencer and was knocked out in the first round.
