This Saturday (20), Ketlen Scallop will have a 'golden opportunity' to get closer to a possible shot at the Ultimate bantamweight title (up to 61,2kg). The Brazilian faces the former champion Miesha Tate in the main fight of UFC Vegas 43 and, in an exclusive interview with SUPER FIGHTS, reinforces that she is happy with the opportunity and ready for the most important fight of her career.

“Definitely (it’s the most important). I always see all my fights as the most important of my career. I'm going to take a tried and experienced former champion. (I have) a feeling of great happiness and (the desire to) test myself there. You can be sure that on Saturday we will look for victory all the time and it will be a great fight”, said Vieira.
Despite coming from a victory against It's Kunitskaya, the Brazilian occupies seventh position and knows that a possible victory against Tate could boost her as one of the possible athletes to challenge Amanda nunes. She even highlights the gift of 'grabbing' the opportunity and sees a favorable scenario for her triumph.
“A victory over Miesha Tate it would be important to me. I would return to the top 5 so that, who knows, I could be applying for a place to be a challenger (for the title). And that's another fuel. Opportunity doesn’t knock twice on the same door and we have to seize every moment”, highlighted the Amazon native.
Most important fight of the night
Hired in 2016 by Ultimate after standing out in national events, Ketlen played seven times in the division – winning five and losing two. Still, the Brazilian takes on her first 'main fight' and celebrates the opportunity.
“I am really very happy and honored with the opportunity. It is a great opportunity. I'm very happy, because I flashback to my life and see everything that happened. I'm from the interior of Amazonas, the daughter of two riverside parents, who today is at the biggest event in the world doing a main fight – which is the dream of many athletes. It is the reason for much joy and gratitude”, she concluded.
History of the Athletes
Nova União athlete, Ketlen Scallop seeks to recover from the defeat suffered against It's Kunitskaya in February this year. Ranked seventh in the rankings, the Manaus native won her first four fights in Ultimate, between 2016 and 2018. Her record now has ten triumphs and two setbacks.
Former division champion, Miesha Tate returned from a period of almost five years away from the octagon with a victory over veteran Marion Reneau in July this year. The result was enough to place 'Cupcake' in eighth place in the bantamweight rankings. Tate is looking to win two in a row for the first time since she crashed Jessica Eye e Holly holm, in 2015 and 2016, respectively. The North American has a record of 19 positive results and seven negative results
