'TUF Canada vs Australia' will have middleweight and welterweight tryouts

This measure, however, does not guarantee that both divisions will be represented in the edition of the reality show.

The next international edition of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter, which will pit Canadian and Australian athletes face to face, will feature tryouts in the middleweight and welterweight categories. The Ultimate organization announced the news this Thursday (27). Initially, only athletes weighing up to 77 kg would participate in testing for the program.

The addition of fighters under 84 kg to the auditions does not guarantee that both divisions will be present in the reality show. The category that presents the best level of athletes is the one chosen to be represented in the program. If both are successful in the qualifiers, the edition will have a mixed cast – as happened in TUF Brasil 1, for example.

TUF Nations: Canada vs Australia, should debut in early 2014 and will have Canadian Patrick Côté and Australian Kyle Noke as coaches. The selection process begins in September and will be held in the cities of Toronto and Sydney. This will be the third time that two countries will duel in an edition of the The Ultimate Fighter. In 2009, the United States and the United Kingdom faced each other in the TUF 9. Last year, Australia and the United Kingdom went head to head in TUF: The Smashes.
