After his first victory in the UFC, Rafael Alves criticizes fighters who choose an opponent: 'It's lax'

The Brazilian harshly criticized athletes who like to choose their next opponents and left the decision of his next rival in the hands of the organization

After submitting Mark Diakiese in spectacular fashion and getting his first victory in Ultimate, Rafael Alves doesn't want to know about choosing an opponent. In a press conference after UFC Vegas 42 last Saturday (13), the Brazilian called athletes who like to ask for their next opponents 'lax' and left the choice of their next rival in the hands of the organization.

“For me, the guy who chooses an opponent is weak. I prefer to leave it in the hands of the UFC, which is a wonderful company, I'm sure they'll find a perfect person for me, but I'll say one thing: the UFC isn't feeling sorry for me, they're just putting on a tough face. I’m about to start beating Dana White”, said Rafael.

Hired in 2020 after winning his duel on the 'Contender Series', the Brazilian debuted with a defeat to Damir Ismagulov, in May of this year. Rehabilitation came last Saturday with the beautiful submission victory over Mark Diakiese. The Brazilian athlete has a record of 20 positive results and 10 negative results in mixed martial arts.
