The feud began after UFC Vegas 42 last Saturday (13), when Max Holloway stood out by winning Yair Rodriguez. However, while the Hawaiian was announced, McGregor posted a video in which he paced back and forth in front of his television, as a way of considering a rematch.

The 'Notorious' stance, however, did not go unnoticed by Sonnen. Current UFC commentator, the former athlete stated that the Irishman is becoming a 'rich weirdo' when analyzing the provocation.

“Conor is becoming a rich weirdo. It's the last thing I wanted for him, but he posts some things and then deletes them. If in your last UFC fight you didn't throw a single punch, now you're trying to steal a headline. (…) He is being a stranger. Is this what he wants as his identity? A guy walking around shirtless, shouting at his television? Come on… When you’re 22, that’s one thing, but as a husband and father, you become a bit of an idiot,” Chael said.

Then, Sonnen marked McGregor and, paying attention to the movement, the Irishman tried to respond. According to him, Chael is 'broke' and trying to provoke big names to continue getting noticed.

“The bankrupt 'weirdo' said it (laughs). You can't provoke big 'fish'. No chance,” replied Conor.

Although he is still recovering from a fracture suffered in his left leg in the fight against Dustin poirier, Conor McGregor has been active on social media and has publicly fired shots at names like Max Holloway, Jorge masvidal e Petr yan. Furthermore, 'Notório' has also been involved in controversies with the musician Machine Gun Kelly and the Italian DJ Francesco Facchinetti. He still has no plans to return to the Ultimate Octagon.
