Bellator president praises Cyborg's performance, but talks about possible duel against Harrison

Scott Coker is cautious when talking about a possible fight between the athletes, but confirms meeting with the North American's manager

No Bellator 271 last Friday (12), Chris Cyborg defended her featherweight title (up to 65,7kg) by knocking out Sinead Kavanegh. And, as soon as the Brazilian managed to keep her belt, the eyes of the public were focused on the possibility of a next promotion against the undefeated Kayla harrison.

In a post-event interview, however, the organization's president Scott Coker tried to curb the excitement for Harrison's eventual signing with his company. He, however, confesses that he will meet with the fighter's managers and, if there is an agreement, he can start thinking about the superfight of his dreams.

“Cyborg looked faster than ever in some combinations tonight and that is truly incredible. She looked great and I like that. (…) Kayla harrison is not a Bellator athlete. I still don't know if she's a 'free agent' and we're going to start talking to her manager at the beginning of next week to see if there's a possibility and, only then, start thinking about promoting this fight,” said Coker.

Still, Scott is cautious about 'marriage' and prefers to look at a realistic scenario at the moment. The Bellator president said that Zingano cat could be Cyborg's next opponent, who could fight again in February or March 2022.

"To the Chris Cyborg, now, we have some fighters in mind. Zingano cat, without a doubt, is fighting for this. We are thinking about a fight for her (Cyborg) in February or March of next year and we have some possibilities on the subject”, he concluded.

Two-time Olympic judo champion, Kayla harrison She is undefeated in MMA in 13 fights and, without a contract with the PFL, she is being considered for Bellator and UFC. Already Chris Cyborg, now, managed to maintain, for the third time, the featherweight title (up to 65,7kg.) and, when questioned, avoided giving emphatic answers on the subject.
