Big name in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, André Galvão signed a contract with ONE Championship to compete in mixed martial arts and 'gentle art' competitions soon. This Monday (8), the organization's official profile on 'Twitter' announced the signing of the Brazilian, who also confirmed the information on social media.

“Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu legend André Galvão has signed with ONE Champiosnhip to compete in both mixed martial arts and grappling competitions! Who do YOU want to see Galvão's face at ONE's debut?”, announced the company in its 'Twitter' official.
In jiu-jitsu, Galvão has already won six Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC) world championships and six International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) titles. On the other hand, André has also competed in MMA and has a record of five wins and two losses in his career – although he has not competed in the sport since October 2010.
On that occasion, André Galvão ended up submitting for Tyron woodley at Strikeforce. The American later became UFC champion and competed against Jake Paul in boxing.
Rivalry in sight?
With the signing, André Galvão is another member of the ONE Championship squad. The Brazilian can now face his arch-rival Gordon Ryan – who is also another jiu-jitsu legend. In a recent meeting, the two athletes argued at a grappling event and, on that occasion, the North American even physically attacked the Brazilian to increase expectations for a possible duel.
