At just 19 years old, Sergio Pettis has followed closely in the footsteps of his older brother Anthony – former WEC champion and number one contender in both the lightweight and featherweight divisions in the UFC. This Friday (21), Sergio beat Dillard Pegg in just 51 seconds in the main fight of the eighth edition of Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA) and won the organization's inaugural flyweight belt.
Despite the quick victory, Pettis did not have an easy life before entering the cage. “The Phenom”, as he is known, would face the brother of another MMA star: veteran Jeff Curran, older brother of Bellator champion Pat Curran. However, about a week ago, Curran left the card and was hastily replaced by Dillard Pegg. Despite the change in opponent and, consequently, in his training routine, Sergio invested in his powerful kicks and quick punches to knock him out before the first minute of the fight.
The RFA 8 card, held in Milwaukee (USA), also featured the Brazilian Peter Munhoz. The Black House athlete submitted his opponent, Mith Jackson in the final seconds of the first round and remains undefeated as a professional, now with eight wins.
Check out the results of the RFA 8 main card below:
Sergio Pettis knocked out Dillard Pegg in R1 for the flyweight belt;

Peter Munhoz submitted Mitch Jackson with a rear naked choke in R1;
