The North American responded in a less than friendly way to the compliments made by his rival after the second fight between the two

In the early hours of last Saturday (6) to Sunday (7), Kamaru Usman derrotou Colby covington by unanimous decision of the judges in the main fight of the UFC 268 and defended the organization's welterweight (up to 77 kg) belt for the fifth time.

The five-round war waged by the rivals may have soothed tempers on the part of Kamaru Usman, who even praised Covington after the duel. The converse, however, is not true.

At a press conference held after the fight, Covington responded in a less than friendly way to the compliment from the Nigerian, who moments before had stated that “every Muhammad Ali needs a Joe Frazier”.

“It was definitely not a compliment. He's a cheating coward, I have no respect for this guy. He is obviously a cheater, he has cheated in several fights. Today he was holding my glove against the fence. In the first round I tried for a takedown and he hit me twice in the back of the head. I think Dan Miragliotta is one of the three best referees in the world, but I warned him before the fight not to let this guy hit me in the back of the head, but he did. You will never see me cheating or trying to cheat. It's unfair, but I feel like I did my job and I promise this wasn't the last time he saw me,” Covington said.
