Willing to prove, once again, that he is indeed the greatest name in the 'noble art' today, Canelo is the champion of the World Boxing Council (CMB), World Boxing Association (AMB) and World Boxing Organization (WBO ) and also tries to end the unbeaten record of Caleb Plant – who holds the International Boxing Federation (FIB) title.
The winner of the duel will even be unified as the only champion and will keep all three belts. In addition to the dispute, three other fights make up the card this Saturday (6).
Canelo Álvarez x Caleb Plant
Holder of titles in four divisions, Canelo Álvarez is already considered, by many, as one of the best fighters in the history of the 'noble art'. Favorite for the fight, the Mexican icon is flirting with moving to light heavyweight in case of another triumph. He has a record of 56 wins, one setback and two draws.
Caleb Plant, in turn, has a fast and aggressive style, with his mental resistance highlighted as a crucial factor in a possible victory in the clash. The North American is undefeated in 21 fights, 12 of which were knockouts and another nine by judges' decision.
The two athletes have a great rivalry and actually came to blows in a confrontation. At the time, the Mexican took off his glasses and stared at the North American, who began to tease him. Canelo threw a left blow and opened Plant's face.
