Salvadoran bantamweight based in Canada Ivan Menjivar already has a potential opponent for his next UFC fight. He is expected to face Japanese star Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto at UFC 165.

Although it has not yet been made official by the UFC, the fight was announced by TVA Sports in Canada. UFC 165 is scheduled for September 21st, in Toronto, at the Air Canada Centre.

A teammate of Georges St-Pierre at Tristar Gym in Montreal, Menjivar was submitted by Urijah faber in his last appearance, at UFC 157. Previously, the fighter had a solid record of four wins in five fights in the bantamweight division.

Yamamoto lives a very different situation. Hired by the UFC as one of the main stars of Japanese MMA, the fighter was unable to score a single victory in the biggest organization in the world. He was defeated sequentially by Demetrious Johnson, Darren Uyenoyama and Vaughan Lee since moving to Western MMA. In addition to not winning a fight since May 2010, Kid has not fought for 19 months due to injury.
