Former WBC (World Boxing Confederation) world boxing champion, Viktor Kotochigov experienced dramatic moments during a period of training in the United Kingdom. While preparing for a fight, which would take place on December 11, the athlete was the victim of an attempted robbery and his body was burned after an acid attack. On his social networks, the fighter narrated the episode.

“The training period in England was a bit unsuccessful for me. To summarize the situation: I flew to England to prepare for the fight scheduled for December 11th. I rented a room and started training. Four days have passed, I'm sleeping at night, I hear a noise outside the door, someone is trying to open the lock making noise. I burst out sharply and want to grab a knife, but there was nothing in the kitchen except a fork and a spoon. The door opens, people enter with hoods over their heads. Without hesitation, I got up and went to them, but apparently they had no plans to fight me and they poured a substance similar to acid on me”, said Viktor, in an excerpt translated by 'ge'.
After the action, Kotochigov also spoke about the recovery process. According to the athlete, he spent the last few days hospitalized to treat his injuries.
“I spent the next few days in the hospital, with burns, under the supervision of doctors. I realized one thing: you need to go to training in safe places.”, he concluded.
At 28 years old, Viktor has 14 boxing commitments. The athlete has 12 wins and two losses.
