Undisputed leader of welterweights (up to 77kg.) in Ultimate, Kamaru Usman always made a point of making public his friendship with Israel adesanya, owner of the UFC middleweight title (up to 83,9kg). With just one weight division away from his compatriot, the Nigerian has already stated that he has no interest in a superfight against 'Izzy'. The athlete, however, found only one possible scenario.

Welterweight champion since 2019, Kamaru has attracted more and more attention in MMA for his constant evolution. Since he assumed the throne of the category, the athlete has gone through four challenges, winning in every situation.

On the other hand, Adesanya has also done well in maintaining the middleweight belt. Leader of the group since 2019, the Nigerian has so far had three title defenses and has the next one confirmed for January 22nd, in a rematch against Robert whittaker.
