Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski fires back at UFC commentators: 'They're not impartial'

Australian claims he analyzed comments from professionals in his latest title fights and says there is a tendency to root against him

Featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg.), Alexander Volkanovsky is dissatisfied with recent analysis from UFC commentators. In an interview with the North American 'ESPN', the Australian accused them of being biased in their comments, in addition to directly interfering in the continuation of the last presentation against Brian ortega, UFC 266.

“It’s as if there was a dispute between North Americans and Australians. They want the belt to stay in America and, perhaps, they have something against me. I feel that there is something biased, because when you convince the doctors and referee to do something to favor the opponent. (Brian) Ortega was finished and couldn't even get up anymore. He was lying down because he thought the fight was over. It wasn’t fair,” said Volkanovski.

It does not stop there. According to the Australian, there was also a 'favour' in the comments by Max Holloway in the rematch between the athletes. The featherweight even highlighted that, despite his balance, he won the fight.

“I also watched the rematch with Holloway and saw something biased. It's hard to see as they clearly made very bad comments. Not that the fight wasn't similar and balanced, but it was embarrassing on their part”, concluded the fighter.
