An unusual scene was one of the hallmarks of the confrontation between Brazilian Jonas Bilharinho and Cannan Kawaihae in the last edition of 'Dana White's Contender Series'. In the second round of the featherweight fight (up to 65,7kg), both athletes were surprised by simultaneous low blows and collapsed in pain after the actions.

In the images (see below), Bilharinho and Kawaihae compete in the clinch. At one point, the fighters risk knee strikes and the blow hits the fighters' genital region.
After a short interruption, the clash resumed. In the stage, the Brazilian had an advantage, but the duel would be decided in the last round.
In addition to the illegal knees, the duel brought another notable moment. Towards the end of the confrontation, Jonas achieved victory with a cinematic round kick, which erased Kawaihae and forced a stoppage from referee Herb Dean.
Even with the categorical triumph, Bilharinho was unable to convince Dana White and left the UFC Apex without a contract with Ultimate. According to the president of the organization, present at the event, the Brazilian did not show 'killer instinct' in the initial attacks, which postponed the Tupiniquim's dream of joining the company's fighter squad.
