The Polish organization MMA-VIP caused a lot of controversy recently by promoting two intergender challenges in its third edition. The two fights between men and women ended with knockouts of the male participants and generated a lot of criticism on social media.

In the first fight, Michal Przybylowicz, known as the “Polish Ken”, defeated wrestler Wiktoria Domzalska. In the main fight of the event, tiktoker Piotrek Muaboy beat arm wrestling champion Ula Siekacz.
“Hello everyone, I'm alive and let's move on. I will no longer be beaten by any man. I accepted this fight consciously, that's it, I knew what I was doing. I'm waiting for more interesting suggestions and will continue to evolve. What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger,” wrote Ula Siekacz on social media after the defeat.
Despite not being involved with the event, the IMMAF (International MMA Federation), responsible for overseeing amateur MMA events in most of Europe, spoke out in a statement published by the British newspaper “Mirror”.
“Press coverage brought our attention to an intergender MMA fight that took place in Poland over the weekend. Although the organization and competitors have no association with IMMAF, as the international body responsible for amateur MMA, I feel it is important for us to state our position. IMMAF categorically disagrees with this intentional scandal in the form of entertainment that does not represent the sport of MMA or its values and puts women at risk. It is unacceptable that women and men can compete against each other in combat sports, essentially for safety reasons, but also for fair play, and we in no way support this,” the statement reads.
