Dana White opens the door for a duel between Khamzat Chimaev and Nate Diaz

After more than a year away from the octagon due to complications related to Covid-19, Khamzat Shimaev had a triumphant return at UFC 267, last Saturday, when he submitted Jingliang Li in the first round without taking notice of the Chinese. The performance of the Russian-born Swede left MMA fans eager to see him in action again.

In an interview with the press present at the Etihad Arena shortly after the victory, Chimaev challenged Nate Diaz to “see who the real gangster is”. Dana White, president of the UFC, opened the door to the possible duel.

“We are 100% willing to make this fight happen. Let’s talk to Nate about it”, admitted Dana in an interview with the website TMZ Sports.

In four appearances in the octagon, Khamzat Shimaev He achieved two victories by submission and two by knockout and received only one significant blow.

Khamzat Shimaev He has 10 wins in his undefeated MMA record and should appear in the top 15 welterweights (up to 77 kg) in the next update of the UFC rankings. Nate diaz, on the other hand, has three defeats in his last four fights and hasn't won since August 2019, but he is one of the most popular fighters on the Ultimate roster.
