Elizeu Capoeira I'm happy to have won Benoit Saint-Denis in the split decision, but believes that the method of triumph could have been different. In a fight valid for the preliminary card of the UFC 267, an event held last Saturday (30), the Brazilian even 'punished' the Frenchman in the second round without a knockout, as referee Vyacheslav Kiselev refused to interrupt and was criticized for his performance in the duel.

“There were at least two or three moments when it was very clear that the referee should have stopped. He ended up making the fight much tougher than it should have been. I just feel sorry for the guy (Saint-Denis), because he ended up hurting himself a lot more than he should have – and me included, because when you're hitting someone, you're also hurting yourself”, said Elizeu.

In fact, Vyacheslav Kiselev was also scheduled to referee the fight between Magomed Ankalayev e Volkan oezdemir – which happened on the main card. However, after the controversial performance in Elizeu Capoeira e Benoit Saint-Denis, the professional ended up removed.
