Dana White praises Petr Yan for war against Sandhagen and confirms rematch with Aljamain Sterling

Former bantamweight champion, the Russian won the division's interim title by winning the co-main fight of UFC 267

Voted best fight of UFC 267, the co-main duel of the event, between Petr yan e Cory Sandhagen crowned the Russian as the new interim champion of the organization's bantamweight division (up to 61,2 kg). The two athletes fought a true five-round war, from which Yan emerged victorious in the unanimous division of the judges (49-46, 49-46, 49-46).

Responsible for giving the fight of the night bonus to the athletes, Dana White praised Petr yan e Cory Sandhagen during a press conference held after the event.

The duel against Sandhagen was the first of Petr yan since losing the division's linear belt to aljamain sterling, by hitting his rival with an illegal knee. For Dana White, however, the Russian is still the true bantamweight champion and will receive the chance to unify the belts against the North American.
