In an interview with the channel 'TSN', the agent justified the dismissal of the former heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg) and stated that there were no longer conditions to keep him in the company.

"Junior Gypsy I said some things the other day, that he was upset about the way he left the UFC and that I just wanted money. He's in his 40s now and is on a four or five losing streak. There comes a time when I have to make a decision, when a guy keeps losing and is of a certain age, this is just not the place for him to be anymore,” said Dana.
Defeated in his last four fights in Ultimate, Júnior was fired in March of this year after just over 12 years with the company. The Brazilian fighter's peak was between 2011 and 2012, when he was champion of the heavyweight division. Currently, the Brazilian athlete has a record of 21 triumphs and nine setbacks in professional MMA.
