The explanation of Paulo borrachinha about the reason for not being able to reach the weight agreed in the contract for the UFC Las Vegas 41 not convinced Robert whittaker. Former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg), the fighter did not spare the Brazilian from criticism and gave his opinion on the backstage controversy at last weekend's show.

“Honestly, this is nonsense. It was horrible. Why have contracts, rules, if you're not going to get there and do what you want? I know of amateur athletes who perform in places with 100 people who have more professionalism than he showed over the weekend”, said the former champion, in an interview with 'Fox Sports'.
At the beginning of last week, Borrachinha raised controversy when he stated, in a press conference, that he would not be able to reach the middleweight limit, agreed in the contract. The fight was then changed to 'catch weight', but, after another mistake by the Minas Gerais native, it ended up being contested at light heavyweight (up to 93kg). Thus, Robert followed the criticism.
“You could see he wasn’t going to make weight. He couldn't reach catch weight, so they had to go up again. Hats off to (Marvin) Vettori for taking that fight, keeping the card alive. Costa (Borrachinha), you are a terrible professional”, he concluded.
With the confrontation confirmed in the under-93kg group, Paulo had a good performance, but was unable to be superior to his opponent. After five busy rounds, the Italian came out on top, winning by unanimous decision from the judges.
