Combat sports never cease to surprise, and just when you think you've seen it all, something new – and bizarre – happens. In the 30th edition of Standout Fighting Tournament (SFT), held last Saturday (23) in São Paulo, Marcia Procópio and Carina Santi had a competition with a 'pillow duel', in the semi-professional league Pillow Fight Championship (Pillow Fighting Championship, in free translation).

The rules were decided by three rounds of 1m30sec, with a ban on 'pillow blows' from top to bottom. And, in the judges' decision, a draw was declared between the athletes. After the fight, in a relaxed atmosphere, the two fighters received a medal for their participation and recorded the moment on social media.

A big name in national kickboxing, Márcia Procópio won the Brazilian title in the sport in 2019. Carina Santi is a jiu-jitsu athlete, who was runner-up in the Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC) in 2017, in addition to the gold double at the 2019 SP Open.

In addition, the SFT also featured the 'duel of generations' between the young Wellington Predador against the veteran Thiago Manchinha. And, in the duel valid for the featherweight division, Predador knocked out via technical knockout 1m25sec into the first round.
