Everything was heading towards a decision by the judges in the second most important fight of the Bellator 269, when Vitaly Minakov broke his finger and was unable to continue in the duel. With his opponent injured, Said Sowma was declared the winner by technical knockout, amid boos from the public in Moscow, Russia.

Despite fighting at home, Minakov suffered from Sowma's counterattacks and was already at a distance disadvantage. Fighting with the support of the Russians, the local athlete suffered from his opponent's calf kicks and was at a disadvantage in the partial result.

However, when trying to defend Said Sowma's uncomfortable shots, Viitaly Minakov put his left hand in defense, but his little finger was broken. On impulse, he tried to put it in place and, upon realizing the situation, the referee decided to end the duel.

With this, Minakov suffers his second career defeat. He also has 22 wins. Sowma, in turn, conquers the eighth setback, while also having two other setbacks.
