Former Invicta FC champion, Livinha is coming off a defeat to compatriot Amandinha Lemos in her last appearance, in March this year. In an exclusive interview with SUPER FIGHTS, the “Brazilian Gangster” revealed problems in preparing for the last fight, but guaranteed that she learned lessons from the defeat and is better prepared for the duel against Randa markos.

“Actually, I don't even consider it a setback, because I didn't even go to fight. I went further to fulfill my commitment to the UFC, I wasn't going to leave them in the lurch, I gave my word. I had a lot of obstacles, I was changing teams and I only trained three times for this fight. Everyone saw Amanda's level in the UFC, a very high level. I went in with my knife to fight in the war with her and I got the worst of it. What I learned was to plan better for the next fights and be on a top team to compete in the UFC”, said the fighter.

If Livinha is coming off two defeats in her last three fights, her opponent's phase is much worse. Randa markos she was defeated the last four times she entered the Octagon and hasn't won since October 2019. The sequence left the Iraqi-Canadian with a negative record, with ten wins, 11 losses and one draw. For Livinha, however, her opponent's bad form means nothing when the octagon door closes.

“It certainly doesn’t increase the pressure. Each fight is a chapter. She is experienced and I hope she brings her best. I think her stage doesn't affect anything, just like me losing the last fight doesn't affect anything. Another fight, another story, another event. I believe we will have a very even fight, very close and that will be decided in detail”, analyzed Livinha.

To get back into the Ultimate victory column, Livinha is betting on an intelligent and strategic fight. The former Invicta champion intends to enter the octagon and do her job, leaving the “shows” to professionals in the artistic field. This, however, does not mean that the Brazilian intends to wage a bureaucratic fight. Livinha's bet is on an outcome in the second round.

“I will fight very intelligently. I don't have to open the fight. Whoever puts on a show is a singer. The one who will put on a show is Roberto Carlos. We go in there to get the victory, get the bag, go home and think about the next one. I think it will be an even fight, but I have good weapons to nullify her game and certainly perform at my best. I think it ends with a knockout or submission in the second round,” he said.

At 30 years old, Livinha has 14 wins, eight of which by submission, and only three defeats in her career. Against Randa markos, this Saturday, the Brazilian enters the UFC octagon for the sixth time, aiming to return to the top 15 in the strawweight division.

“A victory puts me on the path, I'm not going to say it puts me there, because we don't know. I definitely want to join the ranks and compete with these girls who are incredible, great athletes, to become one of the top performers in the category”, he concluded. Livinha Souza.
