The qualities of Lyoto Machida are widely recognized in the world of MMA, including by their opponents. In an interview with the website mma mania, the North American Phil Davis, who faces the former light heavyweight champion at UFC Rio 4, surrendered to the Brazilian's skill.
“Machida always brings blows that no one has ever seen or faced. Every time he fights someone, things never seen before happen. He always does unprecedented things, he's an exceptional fighter. He's a ninja. He’s a ninja,” Davis said.
On the other hand, “Mr. Wonderful”, as he is known, believes that on August 3rd the responsibility will be on the opposite side of the Octagon. “There is a lot of pressure on Machida in this fight. He wants a chance to fight for the belt, and he really needs to win this fight. He fights at home and fighting at home puts a lot of pressure on the athlete. I, on the other hand, just have to go out there and do what I know. I make things happen, and I'm also hoping for a title shot,” he added.
Lyoto Machida e Phil Davis face each other at UFC 163, also known as UFC Rio 4, on August 3, at the HSBC Arena. In the main fight of the night, the featherweight champion José Aldo puts your title on the line against the challenger Anthony Pettis.

With the striking he showed against Vinny Magalhaes (even though he won), I think it's very difficult to beat Lyoto... (to take him to the ground he'll have to change)
