Paulão finishes in the WEC and keeps the belt

Even without fighting well and being dominated during most of the fight, Paul Philo He successfully defended his WEC belt early this Thursday morning. Paulão won Chael Sonnen with an armbar at the end of the second round.

The Brazilian was trapped in the cage, suffering ground and punch, when he managed to get an armbar, Sonnen screamed and the referee stopped the fight. The American still complained, claiming that he hadn't given up the fight, but it was too late.
“I was raised in hardship and I knew that at one point or another he would get tired. I’m Brazilian and I never give up”, said Paulão after the fight. Paul Philo, remains undefeated with 16 career victories.

The other Brazilian at the event was Marcos Loro, who ended up being knocked out in the second round in his fight against Brian Bowles.
