On December 11th, Leon edwards will be back in the octagon in UFC 269 to resolve their rivalry with Jorge masvidal. Looking for a chance at the welterweight title (under 77kg), the Englishman responded to comments from critics, who accuse him of running away and selecting fights during his career in the organization.

“I’m the only one taking all these risks. Khamzat (Chimaev), Masvidal, (Nate) Diaz, I'm the only one that's fighting and catching all these guys below me in the rankings. How are you still criticizing me? It is what it is. I keep doing my thing. I continue earning my money and training, because I will still be world champion”, said Edwards, in an interview with the podcast 'The MMA Hour'.
Leon, in fact, considers that he will not be able to please everyone and is only focused on resolving his issues with Masvidal in the UFC 269. The Englishman's hope is that he will be able to emerge victorious and move towards a title fight.
“It's a crazy world. The MMA world is crazy. I keep doing my thing and stay focused on the task at hand. You can't pay too much attention to it or you'll go crazy. I'm the only one who's putting everything on the line, because I want a title shot, but I'm taking a step back, fighting the 6th (ranked welterweight fighter). So, let them talk”, concluded the Englishman.
Leon edwards, who comes from ten fights without losing, occupies third place in the welterweight category (up to 77kg), behind only Gilbert Durinho, Colby covington and the current champion, Kamaru Usman.
