After the sudden change, Dumont spoke exclusively to the channel SUPER FIGHTS on YouTube, about the change of opponent at the last minute. She even pointed out the differences between the game of Holly holm e Aspen ladd and told where he can have an advantage in the duel.
“Holly (Holm)’s game is very different. It doesn't accelerate as much and it would be a slower, chess fight. Aspen (Ladd) comes for 'all or nothing', she doesn't defend herself very well and her guard is exposed. But, for my counterpunching style, perhaps the fight against Aspen will be more lively. Against Holly, it could be a little slower. Now, it will be more accelerated. I don't think it will last five rounds. On the other hand, it's really bad to lose a fight against Holly. Beating a former champion is something that makes you a top contender. There is a positive side and a bad side”, said Norma.
With a sequence of two victories, Dumont is making her first main event in Ultimate and believes that Ladd is the ideal opponent so that she can attract the attention of the public towards an ascension in the featherweight division (up to 65,7kg.).
“Her striking is a little exposed. She even has a heavy hand, but she doesn't protect herself. And that, for me, is favorable. I like to throw a lot of strikes in a straight line and this helps me to break the person's resistance. I think she would have an advantage if she could land on top, because she has a good ground and pound. She doesn't have much of a finishing style of jiu-jitsu, but she holds positions to hit. However, before that, she has another problem ahead of her: taking me down. I know it's very difficult. I even went on a camping trip very focused on Wrestling”, added the girl from Minas Gerais.
Plans to challenge for the featherweight title
The category up to 65,7kg. is going through an indelicate moment in the organization. Despite Amanda nunes sporting the belt, she still runs the risk of being eliminated by Dana White, due to the lack of athletes available in the division. Now, Norm Dumont plans to show his potential so that Ultimate can rethink the position. In fact, the Tupiniquim representative revealed that a fight against the 'Leoa' is still in her plans for the future.
“First, that the UFC doesn’t close the division and bring in more big-name athletes. And from then on, may I become a problem in the featherweight division. Let everyone look and say: 'Damn, Norma is going to fight. I want to see this girl fight a lot.' We want the belt, obviously, but every athlete needs to be – within the UFC – a star (…) I really like Amanda. I know her personally, she's a really good person, but it's her job and it's mine. She has never denied that she wants to defend her belt, because it is her job. It needs people who sell fights, who are interesting. So, it's no disrespect to say that I want the title. Sometimes people get a little upset because she's Brazilian – and I like her a lot, but we need to fight. Otherwise, we stop and no one fights anymore”, she concluded.

Professional since 2016, Dumont has a record of six triumphs and one setback in his career in mixed martial arts. The Brazilian, who also has problems breaking the bantamweight limit (up to 61,2kg), plans her future in the featherweight division (up to 65,7kg).
