After victory at UFC Las Vegas 39, Marina Rodriguez talks about her chance to fight for the belt

The gaúcha stated that she would not refuse the opportunity, but sees Carla Esparza ahead of the queue for the dispute

On Saturday night (9), Marina Rodriguez defeated Mackenzie Dern via unanimous decision in the main event of UFC Las Vegas 39. The victory was another important step in the trajectory of the fighter from Rio Grande do Sul towards a possible dispute for the organization's strawweight belt (up to 52,2 kg).

In a press conference held shortly after the event, Marina Rodriguez talked about the chance to fight for the belt. The Brazilian admitted that she would not let a possible opportunity pass by, but placed the former champion Carla esparza ahead in line for a title shot.

“I will never deny a chance like that. But, for me, Carla should be next, not Zhang. As the rematch with Rose has already been announced, the fight has to happen. If the UFC gives me this opportunity, I'll take it. Sorry, Carla. But, if that doesn't happen, I hope Carla goes there, wins the belt and we have a rematch for the title”, replied Marina.

Before defeating Mackenzie dern No. UFC Las Vegas 39, Marina Rodriguez occupied sixth place in the ranking. The gaucho now has three consecutive victories against ranked opponents in the Ultimate strawweight division.
