With repeated fight confirmations, the UFC practically closed the card for the first event in the UFC On FOX Sports 1 series. Diego Brandao was selected to face the American Daniel Piñeda.

The Brazilian, who won the fourteenth American edition of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter, managed to avenge the only defeat he suffered in the UFC, a year ago against Darren Elkins, with consecutive triumphs over Joey Gambino, at UFC Rio 3, and Pablo Garza, in second edition of UFC Sweden. Brandão now has a 17-8 record, 3-1 in the UFC.

Texan Piñeda is on a seesaw in the UFC. He debuted by beating Pat Schilling and Mackens Semerzier, then fell against Mike Brown and Antonio “Pato” Carvalho, but then recovered by submitting Justin Lawrence last April.

The first event on the new American channel FOX Sports 1 will be played on August 17th, at the TD Garden, in Boston. Check out the card so far, with only confirmation of a preliminary to close the package:
