Brazilian standout in welterweight (up to 77kg.), Vincent Luque is more than willing to put on a super fight against Nate diaz. “He (Nate) is a great fighter, a legend. Having it on my resume would be huge. Another thing is that he has status, he is a gangster. He goes there and goes for it until the last second, with all his heart. I want to get into the octagon with a guy like that and show that I can do even better than what he does”, said Luque, in an interview with 'MMA fighting'.

Always respectful of the 'bad boy', Vicente managed to catch the North American's attention in recent weeks. After posting on social media, the Brazilian seems to have convinced the veteran to accept the challenge.

“Nate visibly wants the fight. Now, it's up to the UFC to make it happen. Set a date and I think it will be a great fight. I'm sure fans will like it. December is the last month of the year and we can still have the 'Fight of the Season”, he concluded.

A strong candidate for a future welterweight title fight, Luque is currently fourth in the rankings in the category led by Kamaru Usman. Although he is not ranked in the top 15 in the division, Diaz enjoys a lot of prestige with the company and MMA fans.
