After the devastating victory over Iliarde Santos at UFC in Combate 2, on May 18th, the man from Pará Yuri Alcantara, “Marajó”, has a big challenge ahead. The Brazilian will face none other than the former WEC champion Urijah faber, in the first edition of Ultimate on the FOX Sports 1 channel, on August 17th.
Marajó, former lightweight champion of the Jungle Fight, made his second division change in less than a year in 2012, moving down to the bantamweight division after suffering his first loss in three years. Like the Brazilian, Faber has also moved through several categories in recent years, but since 2011 the “California Kid” has established himself as an athlete up to 61 kg. In their careers, both have similar records: 28-6 for Faber and 28-4 (1) for Yuri.
UFC on FOX Sports 1, an event that will host the duel between the Brazilian and the North American, is scheduled to take place on August 17th, at TD Garden, in Boston (USA). The fight night marks the beginning of the series of Ultimate events on the organization's partner group's new sports channel.
