after winning Johnny Walker No. UFC Las Vegas 38, Thiago Marreta believes he is very close to a new light heavyweight (up to 93kg) title fight. The Brazilian fighter stated that he will deserve the chance if he wins his next fight and asked for a confrontation against the Czech Jiri Prochazka, number two in the ranking.

"Jiri Prochazka, if you don't want to wait for a fight (for the belt), I'm here and I can fight you. It's a good fight, I respect him. But I watched your fight. He thinks his shin is a rock, but that's because he hasn't fought the 'sledgehammer' yet”, challenged the Brazilian.
Even if he doesn't get a duel against Prochazka, Marreta asked for a confrontation against a member of the top-5 and said that a new victory will take him to a new title fight.
“If I win my next fight, I know I can challenge for the title again. I think I deserve this. I agreed to fight against a top-10, but now I want a top-5, someone who can bring me a title shot again”, concluded Marreta.
Former heavyweight title challenger, Thiago had his golden chance in July 2019 when he faced the MMA legend Jon Jones. In a complicated duel, the North American remained champion after winning a split decision from the judges. The Brazilian athlete has a record of 22 triumphs and nine setbacks in his career.
