Marreta challenges number two in the rankings and aims for a new title fight

The Brazilian fighter asked for a confrontation against Jiri Prochazka and believes that, in case of another victory, he will compete again for the light heavyweight belt

after winning Johnny Walker No. UFC Las Vegas 38, Thiago Marreta believes he is very close to a new light heavyweight (up to 93kg) title fight. The Brazilian fighter stated that he will deserve the chance if he wins his next fight and asked for a confrontation against the Czech Jiri Prochazka, number two in the ranking.

"Jiri Prochazka, if you don't want to wait for a fight (for the belt), I'm here and I can fight you. It's a good fight, I respect him. But I watched your fight. He thinks his shin is a rock, but that's because he hasn't fought the 'sledgehammer' yet”, challenged the Brazilian.

Even if he doesn't get a duel against Prochazka, Marreta asked for a confrontation against a member of the top-5 and said that a new victory will take him to a new title fight.

“If I win my next fight, I know I can challenge for the title again. I think I deserve this. I agreed to fight against a top-10, but now I want a top-5, someone who can bring me a title shot again”, concluded Marreta.
