Executioner of Michael Page in 2019, Douglas Lima tries another assault on Bellator's 'darling' this Friday

After making history and becoming the first athlete to run over Michael Page in professional MMA, Douglas lima will have the chance to beat the rival again. This Friday (1), starting at 14pm (Brasília time), in London, Bellator 267 will take place, which will be headlined by the former welterweight champion and the organization's 'darling'. The show has 13 fights scheduled.

Douglas Lima promises another knockout over Michael Page at Bellator 267

Willing to retake the crown in the under-77kg category, Lima will make his first appearance since losing the group throne to Yaroslav Amosov. To return to challenger status, the Brazilian will need to repeat the feat of 2017, when he ran over Page, at Bellator 221.

The second most important fight on the show will take place in the division led by Chris Cyborg. Current number five in the rankings, Leah McCourt is trying to face the Brazilian legend and, if she wants to challenge the Curitiba native, she must beat Jessica Borga.

In addition to Douglas, Brazil will have one more representative. Representing the bantamweight category (up to 61,2kg), Jair Júnior makes his debut in the organization and faces the undefeated Khurshed Kakhorov, in the fight that opens the event.

Considered an eternal promise for Bellator, Page can now be considered a veteran of the organization. With a provocative style, the athlete remained undefeated for 14 consecutive fights, until he was placed in front of Douglas lima in 2019.

In the fight, one of the main fights at Bellator 221, Michael experienced defeat in the worst possible way. After exaggerating the 'frills', the Englishman ended up caught by a sharp blow from the Brazilian, which immediately led to the then undefeated man being knocked out.

The clash in question was valid for the semi-finals of the welterweight tournament. With the victory, Lima advanced to the grand final and, against Rory McDonald, would win the linear belt of the division.

As champion, the Brazilian was unsuccessful in his first defense of the throne. After moving up a division and seeking the vacant middleweight title (up to 83,9kg.) against Gegard Mousasi and ended up defeated, in 2020, the Brazilian team returned to its original division and, against Yaroslav Amosov, in 2021, lost the crown.

While Douglas tried to expand his stardom in the company, Michael managed to reestablish himself in his career. After the setback in Lima, the Englishman managed to score five consecutive victories and is now in the fight that could lead to his first fight for a belt in the company.
