Ex-UFC John Alessio agrees with Bellator

33-year-old Canadian arrives at the new organization a year after leaving Ultimate

Another fighter released by the UFC in the recent wave of cuts in the organization has agreed to a new event. This time, Canadian John Alessio, fired by Ultimate in July last year, signed with Bellator. The 33-year-old athlete announced the agreement with the Californian organization through his official Facebook page.

“I'm very excited for this new chapter in my fighting career. I'm excited to fight live on Spike TV (the channel that broadcasts Bellator in the US) for all of you,” Alessio wrote on his social media page.

John Alessio has a record of 34 wins, 16 losses and one fight without result. The Canadian has been fighting professionally since 1998. In his last fight, “The Natural”, as he is known, faced Dave Mazany in the main fight of Aggression Fighting Championship 13.
