Jon's opponent on two occasions, Daniel surprised by admitting that he bears part of the blame for the confusion generated by 'Bones' outside the octagon. Retired from MMA, the commentator, today, explained.

“I said some things in 2017, before we even fought for the second time. I talked about mistakes and how you make them. It changes you. Jones obviously didn't learn from his mistakes. I also take some of the responsibility, because in many situations you learn when you are put in difficulty. (…) I said he would change after he lost to me, but I didn't defeat him. Chael Sonnen did not defeat him. Many people didn't make it. We never forced him to look in the mirror and reevaluate his behavior outside (of the octagon), because that behavior still led to success. Why change? It’s regrettable”, said DC.

Years after the historic feud with one of the best fighters of all time, Cormier understands that everything is in the past. In order to help, the former double Ultimate champion sent an intense message to his former rival.

“Dana said something very smart when he said he's not even disappointed (by Jones' cases). It became an expectation. When bad behavior becomes commonplace, it should be the biggest cry for help to get back on your feet, because there is no more disappointment. You need to straighten up. If there's a message from me, I'm not proud of where Jones is today and the things he's doing right now. What I'm going to tell him is to get it together. You need to find a way to help yourself because it's not about your career as a fighter anymore. Obviously, he made a lot of money. It’s like straightening out his life to be the example he needs for those three children he has”, he concluded.
