Mike Brown's retirement was short-lived. After announcing that he would hang up his gloves in May 2012, the former WEC champion – the organization owned by the UFC – is back competing. He faces Swedish Akira Corassani at UFC on FOX Sports 1, scheduled for August 17, in Boston.

Brown, who has a professional record of 26 wins and eight losses, was the WEC featherweight champion until he was defeated by the Brazilian José Aldo, in 2009. After that, he went through an irregular moment in his career, where he lost three of five fights. After completing a run of two UFC victories, he announced his retirement, which lasted just over a year.

In turn, Corassani has a professional record of 11 wins and three losses. The Swedish athlete has two appearances in Ultimate, winning in both. In his last duel, he defeated Robbie Peralta at UFC on FUEL 9, in April this year.
