Dana responds to De La Hoya's provocation and accuses the boxer of pretending to have COVID to avoid fighting Belfort

After UFC 266, 'Garoto de Ouro' praised Volkanovski's performance and attacked the boss' salary policy, who responded to the comments with a harsh complaint

The rivalry between Dana White and Oscar De La Hoya has reached a new chapter. After closing the UFC 266 last Saturday (25), the boxer cited the performance of Alexander Volkanovsky to highlight that the featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg.) could receive higher salaries, in addition to demanding 'respect' from the agent.

"Hey, Alexander Volkanovsky. You just won a brutal battle for the UFC and got 1/20th of what you deserve. Dana White, have respect for yourself and these fighters, and pay these warriors what they deserve”, said Oscar De La Hoya in his 'Twitter' official.

The provocation did not go unnoticed by Dana, who did not respond to criticism regarding salary policy. The UFC boss, however, attacked De La Hoya by accusing that the boxer had pretended to test positive for COVID-19 to avoid fighting against Vitor belfort – scheduled on September 11th.

“Shut up, you stoner. You pretended you had Covid and robbed me of (the chance) to watch you get knocked out by Vitor belfort. You should get an award for your performance at the hospital,” Dana White responded.

Previously, when the 'Thriller Fight Club' had scheduled the fight between De La Hoya x Belfort, Dana had already 'poked' his rival for his problems with alcohol and drug abuse. At the time, he had even declared his support for the 'Phenomenon' in the duel.
