Sertanejo forgets the pressure and wants to fight well against Pepey

Featherweights face off at TUF Brasil 2 Finale, in Fortaleza

Felipe SertanejoAlmost a year after drawing with Miltinho Vieira at UFC 147, in Belo Horizonte, Felipe Sertanejo will once again feel the pleasure of stepping into the Ultimate octagon in front of the Brazilian fans. Recovered from foot and hand surgeries, the athlete from São Paulo faces his compatriot Geoffrey Pepey at TUF Brasil 2 Finale, an event that takes place on June 8, in the city of Fortaleza.

Sertanejo does not hide the pressure and expectations for the duel, but he hopes to perform well in front of the Brazilian fans. “The pressure is on both sides and I don’t let myself get carried away by that. Because, in the UFC, there's no point in just winning 'ugly', they want to see a show, people want to see good fights. I've always fought well under pressure. When I have no pressure, I fight poorly, but when I have more responsibility in the fight, I train more and have more focus”, observes Sertanejo, who hopes to be well prepared for the ground fight, his rival's specialty at the event in the capital of Ceará.

“I've been focusing on jiu-jitsu training, which is the strength of the game. Pepey, doing a lot of positioning and training with the best guys possible. I train with Barbosa, Murilo Santana and Charles, who has a sinister confidence with his jiu-jitsu. He has a lot of touch on the ground and also has a tall, thin body type, similar to my opponent. I didn’t see anything special in his last fight, a normal exchange of blows, and if we go to the ground I’m prepared”, he highlights and concluded.
