Duel between Vitor Belfort and Oscar De la Hoya could be rescheduled for the end of November

the meeting between Vitor belfort and Oscar De La Hoya in the ring is not ruled out yet. Triller co-founder and president Ryan Kavanaugh is planning to promote the duel between veterans in 2021.

During his appearance on the podcast The MMA Hour, on the North American website MMAFighting.com, the president of Triller stated that he plans to reschedule the fight between Vitor belfort and Oscar De La Hoya for November 27th, during the Thanksgiving holiday, which is very traditional in the United States.

“The fight between Oscar De La Hoya and Vitor belfort, on Thanksgiving, if we can make it happen, it becomes much more interesting. Because for all the people who seem to have been angry with Vitor for what happened to Holyfield, this fight becomes a lot more personal. Oscar becomes, in addition to the 'Golden Boy', someone who comes in revenge for Holyfield. So we're talking to Oscar about them facing each other on Thanksgiving weekend, Saturday (November 27th) and calling the fight 'The Revenge,'” Kavanaugh revealed.

Vitor belfort and Oscar De La Hoya would face each other at Triller's last event, on September 11th. The Mexican, however, ended up being infected by Covid 19 the week of the fight and was replaced at the last minute by Evander Holyfield. At 58 years old, the North American legend was no match for the Brazilian, 14 years younger, who won by knockout in the first round.

After the victory over Holyfield, Vitor belfort and Kavanaugh revealed a proposal of US$30 million (approximately R$159 million) for a fight between the Brazilian and Jake Paul. Despite the YouTuber refusal, the president of Triller has not yet given up on the idea, but said that the immediate plan is for a duel between Belfort and De La Hoya.

“We will probably try to fight Oscar first, because Oscar is in great fighting shape and has already recovered from Covid. We don't want him to lose his fighting form. I think Jake needs to get back into shape, from what I understand. I could be wrong,” concluded Kavanaugh.
