Eighth place in the featherweight rankings (up to 65,7 kg), Giga Chikadze has bold plans for the future. After knocking out Edson Barboza in the third round of the main fight of UFC Las Vegas 35, the Georgian fighter wants to face the former champion Max Holloway, first placed in the division ranking.

During his participation on the Australian channel Submission Radio, Giga Chikadze stated that he would do well in fights against Holloway and the current champion Alexander Volkanovsky, but feels that the Hawaiian would be an even easier opponent.

“I think Max (Holloway) would be an easier fight for me. I know more about his weaknesses. I didn't study Alex (Volkanovski) much. He's a short fighter, I would have a lot of advantages. I know a lot of people will say this or that, but I think it's a good fight for me”, analyzed Chikadze.

Owner of a streak of seven victories, the last three of which were by knockout, and undefeated in the UFC octagon, Chikadze believes that the time has come to face an opponent the size of Max Holloway.

PUBLICITY:

“Max and Yair (Rodriguez) were marked, right? Then Max had to leave due to an injury and Yair didn't face me. They offered me to him. I think Max needs to face me to fight for the belt again. Nobody wants to see Max and Alex fight again. I'm new to the division and I'm going to prove with my kicks and punches that I'm the real deal. Now it's my turn to get a great opponent like Max. I'm ready. I know he is the true champion. I think he won the last fight. I'm coming off seven consecutive victories and he needs to face me. The public wants to see this fight”, argued the Georgian.

Finally, Chikadze assured that he is better at fighting on the feet than Holloway and that the former champion “would need crutches” after the supposed duel.

PUBLICITY:

“He said he’s the best boxer, right? I'm the best striker. This will be a stand-up fight and I guarantee you that, when it ends, he will be walking on crutches”, he concluded.

While the potential challengers provoke each other, the owner of the featherweight belt, Alexander Volkanovsky, defends the title next Saturday (25), against Brian ortega, in the main fight of the UFC 266.
