After controversy, Russian boxer accuses Khabib of 'sexism' for statement about ring girls

The statement from the former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg.) Khabib Nurmagomedov, who stated that ring girls are 'useless' in MMA events, continues to raise controversy in combat sports. The controversial speech, which had already been contested by Arianny Celeste, Brittney Palmer and Luciana Andrade, was also attacked by Russian boxer Angelina Semenova, who accused him of sexism.

“The 21st century has arrived and women have the same rights as men. MMA is a sport, so are ring girls, like 'icing on the cake'. It's time for Khabib (Nurmagomedov) to leave the sexism he's used to in the mountains of Dagestan, if he's going to live in a society where everything has been different for a long time,” said Semenova, in an interview with 'MetaRatings'.

It does not stop there. According to the boxer, when asked about the organization 'Eagle Fighting Championship', chaired by Khabib Nurmagomedov, she suggests that he 'enforce the rules' only on his properties.

“Let him apply his rules exactly where he was born. Although, development will reach that corner sooner or later, I hope so”, concluded the compatriot.
