In boxing fight week, Anderson Silva reveals the age at which he intends to abandon competitions

Brazilian MMA legend faces Tito Ortiz this Saturday and sets deadline to officially hang up his gloves

At a new moment in his career, Anderson Silva is not yet thinking about retiring from combat sports. Opponent of Tito Ortiz this Saturday (11), in a confrontation valid under boxing rules, the Brazilian, however, outlined a career plan and stipulated how long he wants to continue competing.

“My goal is for my last fight to be at 49 years old. Probably, at 49, I will call it quits. That's my goal. Fight for three more years and that's it. 49, that's the number. Maybe I can fight more, but now my goal is, when I turn 49, I stop fighting,” he admitted.Spider', in an interview with 'TMZ'.

Considered by many to be the best middleweight (up to 83,9kg) of all time in MMA, Anderson had a gala boxing performance in June. On that occasion, the athlete, who had his first fight after leaving the UFC, surpassed the former world champion in the 'noble art', Julio César Chávez Jr.

Willing to continue working in boxing, the fighter is now trying to maintain his good momentum. To do so, the veteran will need to beat another former Ultimate champion, Tito Ortiz.
The clash between Ortiz and Silva will be one of the attractions of this weekend's show. The event will also bring another Tupiniquim, Vitor belfort, who exchanges forces against the renowned Evander Holyfield, also in the 'noble art'.
