Fighter defeated by oblique kick at UFC Vegas 36, Modestas Bukauskas defends Khalil Rountree from criticism

After being defeated by Khalil rountree with a dangerous oblique kick to the UFC Las Vegas 36th last Saturday (04), Modest Bukauskas he didn't want to blame his opponent. Even though he suffered a serious knee injury, the Lithuanian athlete exempted his opponent from criticism and stated that it was his duty to defend himself from the blow he suffered.

“Please cut my opponent some slack. That shot was really good, it was my job to defend and I didn't do it. Let the man enjoy his victory,” Bukauskas wrote in his ‘Instagram'.

According to Jeff Davidson, UFC's official doctor, Modestas suffered multiple injuries to his left knee. The light heavyweight athlete (up to 93kg) suffered serious damage to his cruciate, medial collateral and posterior cruciate ligaments.

In a terrible phase of his career, Bukauskas was defeated in his last three fights in the organization. The 27-year-old fighter suffered consecutive setbacks to Jimmy crute, Michał Oleksiejczuk and Khalil rountree. In his professional MMA record, the Lithuanian athlete has a record of 11 triumphs and five setbacks.
