Lighter, Pezão seeks to surprise Cain Velasquez at UFC 160

Brazilian challenges North American for heavyweight belt next Saturday (25)

Pezao weighingFocused on seizing the biggest opportunity of his career, Antonio Pezão continues training hard to face Cain Velsquez at UFC 160. The Brazilian, who will have a rematch against his tormentor in his Octagon debut, is counting on a change in his physical preparation to surprise the champion and manage to take the heavyweight title.

Known for being one of the strongest athletes in the division, the athlete from Paraíba opted to cut weight and try to increase his speed in the duel. “I'm very well conditioned. I've been training at 124kg, so I'm much lighter than usual. I feel faster to execute strikes, but I still have the same power”, said Pezão, who believes in the benefits of cutting weight.

“I'm in great condition. It's the first time I've tried this lighter training experience, and I'm really pleased with it. I intend to enter the Octagon weighing no more than 123kg. Even though I'm a little drier, I'll be at least 15kg heavier than my opponent”, he revealed.
