“I'm here with my water and some food now. When I was at 77kg, it was horrible. The week of the fight was cutting 12kg, 13kg, it wasn't good for the body and it wasn't good for the mind. Now I'm at 84kg and at the moment I'm at 87kg, 88kg. I don't even cut weight, I'm fine, I'm happy. I like food,” Till said.
In a new weight range, Till dreams of reaching the top of the category in case of a triumph next Saturday and spoke about his expectations for the duel against Brunson.
“A win puts me at the top. Derek's win, (Jared) Cannonier's win and I'm there for a title shot. It will be a striker x wrestler duel. Brunson has a strong hand and I have good takedown defense. It's going to be an interesting fight, with whoever can make their style better than the other's style. That’s how I see this fight”, concluded the Englishman.
In his two fights in the new division so far, Till has won and lost one. The 'Gorilla' debuted at 83,9kg with a triumph over Kelvin Gastelum, but was stopped by the former champion Robert whittaker in July 2020. The fighter has a record in the sport of 18 positive results and three negative results.
