A curious meeting between two MMA athletes caught attention at the 26th edition of Caged Steel, held last week. In the fight between Reece Vickerage and Craig Schmitz, what was observed, at first, was the physical disparity between the combatants. When the gong sounded, spectators could notice another stark difference.

In the best style Roy Nelson, the expectation was that the athlete could surprise with a refined knockout technique or strength, as happened with the former Ultimate representative. When the fight began, however, what was seen was completely different.

In the opening seconds, Reece attacked his opponent, who, cornered, could do little. Showing little or no intimacy in the sport, Craig was easy prey for the attacks of his opponent, who, being longer, touched him easily.

The duel continued to unfold until, after less than a minute, a low kick from Reece lost Schmitz, who fell. Afterwards, Vickerage was left to continue striking until the referee stopped the confrontation, preventing a possible massacre.
