Jake's victim, Askren says he will accept defeat better if the YouTuber beats Woodley on Sunday

After an embarrassing performance in front of Jake Paul in April, Ben Askren will be keeping an eye on the new clash of youtuber. This Sunday (29), the digital influencer will share the ring with Tyron woodley and, for the former Bellator and ONE Championship champion, a triumph from the internet phenomenon could regain his honor as a competitor.

“I still don’t know if Jake Paul He's a good boxer. He hit me pretty good once, but it's not like he outplayed me for six rounds. He hits hard, I have to give him credit. Here's the thing, if he beats Tyron, I'll feel a lot better about what happened to me, because Tyron is that good. I think it's unlikely, but in this case, that's what I would think,” said Askren, in an interview with 'TMZ'.

On April 17, Ben ended his retirement and agreed to fight Jake, who had promised to put on a show against the MMA veteran. In the fight, valid according to boxing rules, what was seen was a true massacre. Askren, known for his excellent wrestling, showed little intimacy in his striking and ended up being knocked out in the first round.

After the setback of the former Bellator and ONE champion, Woodley, backstage at the event, asked for the opportunity to face the youtuber. Weeks later, the duel was confirmed.

Sunday's duel will mark Tyron's first appearance since the former welterweight champion (up to 77kg) was removed from Ultimate. There is a lot of expectation from fans, who will know if the digital influencer has, in fact, evolved in boxing.
