“I feel like I'm already in the top 5. So this will be one of those fights that will show the difference in what I have. I follow the division and don't see anyone there. I don't see anyone bringing anything without the skills I have”, asked Lee, in an interview with 'The MMA Hour'.
After disdaining big names in the division, Kevin went further. The athlete, who seeks to reach the group's spotlight, believed he was the only one who would be able to dethrone the feared Kamaru Usman, which has been collecting victims in its latest presentations.
“Usman is a great champion. I have to give him credit. But I don't think he was really challenged. I'm here to give this challenge. (…) There are big names, decent ones, but they don’t do anything,” he concluded.
This weekend, Lee returns to the Octagon after a hiatus of over a year. In his last fight, the North American was defeated by Charles of the Bronx, in a duel contested at lightweight (up to 70,3kg.). Despite his confidence, Kevin has had four setbacks in the last six fights.
